savoring : why i love her today
it's that giddy shriek of discovery - the same intake of breath i'm sure columbus once experienced - that gives you away every time you sneak off to explore bunny's room. that same squeeeee! i heard today in the car when you realized you could see my face in the rear view mirror.
it's those two top teeth just peaking out, and knowing that the moment they arrive your face will go from baby to toddler in an instant.
it's how you go out of your way to pee on the floor (yes, even this) so you can swish your feet around in it because puddles are nifty.
it's those moments when i blow a raspberry on your neck and you look up at daddy, all a smile, just to make sure everyone's having as much fun as you.
it's watching you learn that falling is a surprise but not the end of the world.
it's coming home after a long day at work to find that you now say doidoidoidoi and have a new heh.heh.heh. laugh to try on (no doubt from copying daddy).
it's the way you laugh while sneezing because it's the most hilarious feeling in the world.
it's the way my little baby - you who still lived inside me one year ago - can now scuttle over to me and pull yourself up so that you can give my legs a hug (or a tug).
it's the biggest smile in the world, the one that brings magic everywhere it shines.
