It's here!

My new lens came :O) 50mm 1.4 for these cloudy Seattle days. Soft, buttery and delicious for my love of portraits. Might take me a while to get the hang of it. Now I just need more subjects! I also managed not to attack our house guests with my camera today (okay, so the battery was dead). I'm trying my best to ignore both warnings of a full hard drive on my computer and Flickr, who wants me to upgrade if I plan to add more than 15 more photos. I always close my eyes and hope things will go away if I ignore them. Bad coping tactic, I know.

If you happen to follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you'll know that this week's excitement is the disposal which simply fell out of the sink. Fun, I know. And as much as I appreciate that management gets to fix it all, I'd really rather have my own home so I didn't have to wait.

Bella has really started motoring around and has taken to chasing Bunny around. Not sure which one is in for it. He can get pretty defensive, so we have to keep a close eye on them, but oh my it's funny to watch the two of them run circles around each other.

I've been ignoring Flickr for months and months now.

Smart bunny in his smart hiding place!

Is that new growth from my prayer plant? (I'm so glad you have it.) And the lens is luscious -- as is Bella.

I love my 50mm 1.4, but I think there is a little bit of a getting use to it period. I have found that I have better luck with it on manual focus, especially when shooting the girls. That way if they move slightly, I move with them and I don't have to wait for it to refocus - usually on the wrong spot. Does that make sense?

I love your pictures today, and I hope that disposal gets fixed soon!

Welcome!

Welcome! Thanks for stopping in. As you can see, I have a passion for photography (and cooking and knitting). My daughters, Bella and Lillia, are my greatest inspiration, so you might find you see a lot of them here, as well as the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Be sure to take a peek around and leave some love in the comments!
