Savoring: Long overdue
It has been a very long time since I posted a savoring post. There are so many little blessings in my life that are often obscured by day to day stress. When I look back on this time in my life, I'm sure I'll remember it being incredibly difficult, but the last thing I want to do is forget the little things that made every day enjoyable in spite of it all. Hmmm, reviewing the list, it looks like it's all Bella. But that's not true, we did have a sunny day this week! But I've also been completely housebound, so it's kind of a reflection of the month.
Oatmeal baths times 1000.

Story time before bed.

Falling to sleep with my nose in her hair. Boy am I going to miss this when we have to move her to a separate bed. How do people do it?
The little echo has begun. She repeats things we least expect her to, like cook, yeast, bear, dough (man she loves bread dough-and cooking), pee (hahah), Nemo (sounds like Momo)...

Funny little speech quirks that make me giggle every time. Right now she replaces /s/ with /sh/ so we get yesh (which I love) and the ones that have us laughing every time are sock (which she pronounces with a c) and tv (which she pronounces as teetees). yes, we have a sad sense of humor around here.
Letting a sick baby get away with more than she normally would.

Bangs in her eyes - they're long enough now!
Little kicks and wiggles from the baby. Especially since Bella has wanted to be held so much lately it's starting to feel like sibling rivalry.
Just this week she has decided there's a baby in her belly too.
Short hair so I won't have to cut it since there's no chance we'll be brushing it for a few weeks. She's got at least 100 in her hair alone.

Movies from the library, specifically ASL signing shows that Bella loves.

If you give.... books, because I have been reading them for at least five years now and they are still not old. The drawings always have something new to notice.

Cuddles from a sick clingy baby, because I never know which nursing will be our last. I'm ready to stop nursing now that it is painful, but I'm not ready to give up my Bella time.

Of course, nursing while being pregnant must be painful! I never thought of that before... But you know what happened to me after Zoe weaned? I thought we were going to miss our time together... But that was still there! We still got to cuddle in the same way. We still do nowadays!! So don't be afraid... Bella looks like she is a very attached little girl, so you both will be fine.
It breaks my heart to see all those spots on her, trully.
That last picture is the esence of motherhood.
Let's hope she heals fast!
Oh, poor Bella!! Poor, itchy, spotty Bella. I hope she feels better soon.
I love having a little one in the bed, too. We had a little break there in between 2 & 3, sort of...he still came to climb in around 4 or 5 am, until I just got so big and awkward with his sister that there wasn't much room. I think I'll have to have a stuffed animal to cuddle when the girl gets her own bed.
My first was about Bella's age when I was pregnant. He used to listen to his baby's heartbeat--the baby he was growing. I think I have a picture of him doing that somewhere...
