Just when you think it's safe

sunny day

I think the universe just likes playing jokes on me. Maybe I'm just taking it too personally.

Even when I ended my contagious period, Bella and I remained quarantined for another week so that we'd have a chance to let her show signs of poxdom.

Well, it came and went rather uneventfully, though I studied every red dot on her body with a microscope. She's sensitive, she gets dots left and right.

Fast forward to ANOTHER week later (we counting almost 3 weeks now since I got sick). One car is on the fritz so I'm house bound while Dave works. So I volunteer to host a knit moms get together. I neeeeeeed people, people. Socialization.

Lo and behold, as the two babies and one three year old head home, the one suspicious spot has become 5 and they are filling with fluid. Yes my friends, at long last chicken pox has won over Bella's mighty immune system.

Really, I wouldn't feel so bad if one of the families were not flying to Mexico in 13 days. Who wants to worry about a 6 month old's potential for pox on top of traveling internationally?

Oh, universe, you crack me up.

PS- what is Bella doing now as I finish this post? I had Dave throw her in the tub because her dinner of yogurt became yogurt body painting and since she has been in the most foul mood, I am open to anything that will entertain her (semi)peacefully for an entire half hour. Pictures to follow, I suppose, after the weekend.

Welcome!

Welcome! Thanks for stopping in. As you can see, I have a passion for photography (and cooking and knitting). My daughters, Bella and Lillia, are my greatest inspiration, so you might find you see a lot of them here, as well as the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Be sure to take a peek around and leave some love in the comments!
